Rekindling your spark in the digital era

We all depend on our phones so much that most of them cant imagine a day without it .Chat gpt has taken over for your brain and doom scrolling mindless waste the rest of the little free time you get has become a habit whether young or old.

Parents cant advice kids to keep off their phones cause they do the same whenever free.

I had some crazy hobbies a long time ago.

Not much but i tried literally everything.

Pencil drawing, painting, glass art, craft, bottle arts, model making, crochet, embroidery, fashion designing -eveything that i can get my hands on.Too crazy that your home gets filled with an overwhelming amount of art supplies. Also loved reading and spend a lot on books.

When girls of my age ran behind fashion and make up ,Stationery shops were my haven(Still is).The problem? The stock supplies has too much dust on it now.

Adulting  in digital era has take a turn creating zoned out adults immersed in stagnant routines with zero inagination.I guess we all can relate to that. Who’s got the time for creativity when u are already busy with life?

Consequently this stagnant robotic life drowning in the buzz had drained our life completely. I couldnt even bring myself to scribble any pictures anymore. Even skimming through my old proud drawing books has become a headache. The Reading that lead me through different worlds now seems to be too distant.Writing poems came by as a result of those readings, so even if i try to write one now for the sake of Fablo,my noisy mind stays silent / blank all of a sudden = stagnant imagination and creative skills

The busy adult life can diminish the fire within us in many ways. Here are some possible reasons:

1. Time constraint: As adults, we often get caught up in our responsibilities, leaving little time for pursuits or ME TIME that bring us joy and spark.

2. Prioritizing productivity: We're often encouraged to prioritize productivity and efficiency over creativity and self-expression.Even watching some movies brings out that unwanted guilt saying that I am wasting my time.

3. Fear of imperfection: As we grow older, we may become more self-critical and fearful of not being perfect, which can stifle our creativity.

4. Routine and monotony: The daily grind can be draining, leaving us feeling dull and uninspired.

5. Lack of exposure: As we get older, we may not be exposed to new experiences, people, and ideas that can spark our creativity.

6. Self-doubt and criticism: We may doubt our abilities or feel like we're not good enough, leading us to abandon our passions.

7. Pressure to conform: Societal expectations and pressure to conform can stifle our individuality and creativity.

And then we complain “Why is my Life soo Boring even though I am always Busy?”

But the major problem is not life being boring. Its the consequence of not working our brain in different angles that even reflect our performance at work and other areas too.

Along with not forcing our brain to be creative,u also use it even less by relying on too much AI tools and doom scrolling.

Not exercising our brain can have significant consequences on our personal and professional lives. Here are some potential consequences:

1. Stagnant thinking: When we don't challenge our brains, we can become stuck in a rut, leading to stagnant thinking and a lack of innovation.

2. Reduced creativity: Failing to exercise our creative muscles can lead to a decline in creative thinking, making it harder to come up with unique ideas and solutions.

3. Poor problem-solving skills: Without mental stimulation, our problem-solving skills can suffer, making it harder to tackle complex challenges.

4. Decreased productivity: A lack of mental stimulation can lead to boredom, disengagement, and decreased productivity.

5. Limited career advancement: Failing to develop new skills and think creatively can limit our career advancement opportunities.

6. Reduced confidence: Not challenging ourselves can lead to feelings of inadequacy and reduced confidence.

7. Missed opportunities: A lack of creative thinking can cause us to miss out on opportunities and experiences that could bring fulfillment and success.

Some specific examples of how this can manifest in the workplace include:

- Unable to create unique ideas while brainstorming: When we're not used to thinking creatively, it can be hard to come up with innovative ideas.

- Difficulty adapting to change: Without mental flexibility, it can be challenging to adapt to new situations and challenges.

- Lack of engagement: A lack of mental stimulation can lead to disengagement and a lack of motivation.

- Poor communication: Failing to develop our critical thinking skills can make it hard to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.

- Limited leadership potential: Without creative thinking and problem-solving skills, it can be challenging to take on leadership roles.

In other areas of life, this can manifest as:

- Lack of hobbies or interests: Not pursuing creative activities can lead to a lack of fulfillment and enjoyment.

- Strained relationships: Poor communication and problem-solving skills can strain relationships with friends and family.Lack of interest in family activities also shows up

- Mental health concerns: A lack of mental stimulation can contribute to anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns.

THE SOLUTION

It is essential to our mental health to kee it engaged in brainstorming activities that fuel our imagination and creativity.

TIME is the major problem but we all know we always have to make time for prayers and to take care of our own health. The only Solution to that is time management and figuring out things that drain u and plan ahead (eg:doom scrolling should be set for a time period)

The saying-“If you Really want something U will have Time for it Automatically”Is actually True

Hence lets consider some potential solutions

- Digital detox: Taking regular breaks from technology to focus on creative pursuits and self-reflection.

- Mindful technology use: Using technology intentionally and mindfully, rather than mindlessly scrolling through social media.Take control of your mind and emotions.

- Prioritizing offline activities: Engaging in activities that don't involve screens, such as reading, drawing, or spending time in nature. Atleast sit steady and do some breathing exercises being mindful of your surroundings.

- Seeking out diverse perspectives: Actively seeking out diverse perspectives and ideas, whether online or offline.

Hope the message is understood.

Let there be Colour in your life in all the buzz that occurs around you.
