Challenges Faced by Young Graduates in the Industry

One of the most thrilling things you will ever do is the transition from college to your post-graduation life. You have the rest of your life ahead of you, as well as a realm of opportunities. However, the dream of potential does not always come true. Making the movefrom college life to professional life can be difficult for recent graduates. Few individuals canreadily acquire their ideal careers. Many organizations prefer individuals who have someindustry experience. Having real-world working experience will render you more employable, even if you have a degree and supposedly understand a bunch about your sector. You hold a college diploma. However, most of the other contenders do as well. You don'thave any experience in the field, you presumably don't have many contacts, and you probablydon't have any other relevant work experience. It's unrealistic to expect to get your dreamcareer right out of college or to run a business in three years. These things do happen on occasion, but they are exceptions to the general rule. You may have heard that the wage you receive after graduation has a significant impact onyour overall income potential. This is because most of your future raises will be determinedby your existing wage. Each subsequent rise will be greater if your beginning salary is larger. Most college grads, however, have no understanding of how to appropriately negotiate their pay. They may be concerned that if they ask for more money, they will lose their job. Thetruth is that most employers anticipate you to bargain. They usually pay less than theyprobably pay to give themselves some negotiation ground. You're receiving less than theythink the post is worth if you don't ask for a raise than they offer. Universities, on the other hand, can emancipate students through developing important abilities, facilitating theidentification and communication of those skills, and offering chances for students to practicethose skills. They play a critical role in promoting consciousness of work placements as apathway to graduate employment. Furthermore, universities play a vital role in impactinggovernment policy and collaborating with employers and employer organizations to providestudents with work placement opportunities.

I would like to conclude by saying, “You can’t get a job without experience and you can’t get experience until you have a job.Once you solve that problem you are home free.”~ Jack Buck
