As we celebrate International Women's  Day on March 8th, I am reminded of the countless women who have inspired me throughout my journey as a teacher. Women who have defied conventions, pushed boundaries, and paved the way for future generations. As I sit here, reflecting on my life's journey, I am reminded of the countless times I've been told to "settle down" and "be realistic." But what does it mean to settle down, anyway? Is it about conforming to societal expectations or is it about chasing your dreams, no matter how impossible they may seem? Growing up in a small village, I was surrounded by people who knew me as the "ordinary girl" from the "ordinary family." But little did they know, I had extraordinary dreams brewing inside me.But every time I shared my aspirations with others, I was met with skepticism and doubt.  മനുഷ്യ മനസ്സിനെ ഇത്രമേൽ സ്വാധീനിച്ച മറ്റൊരു കലാരൂപമുണ്ടോ എന്ന സംശയം ജനിപ്പിക്കും വിധം ജനപ്രീതിയാർജ്ജിച്ച കലാരൂപമാണ് സിനിമ.ഈ സ്വാധീനം തന്നെയാണ് ഈ കല ഇന്ന് കാണും വിധം വളരാനും വാണിജ്യവസ്തുവായി മാറാനും കാരണം.സിനിമയുടെ കണ്ടുപിടിത്തം മുതൽക്ക് തന്നെ ആളുകളിൽ വലിയ കൗതുകവും ജിജ്ഞാസയും സൃഷ്ടിച്ച സിനിമക്ക് ആളുകളെ ആഴത്തിൽ സ്വാധീനിക്കാനും പണ്ടുമുതൽക്കേ സാധിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.സിനിമ കണ്ടതിനു ദിവസങ്ങൾക്ക് ശേഷവും സിനിമയിലെ ഗാനങ്ങളും സംഭാഷണങ്ങളും രംഗങ്ങളും പ്രേക്ഷകരുടെ മാനസികാവസ്ഥയെ സ്വാധീനിക്കും എന്ന് നമ്മളോരോരുത്തരും ഒരിക്കലെങ്കിലും അനുഭവിച്ച് മനസ്സിലാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ടാകും. നമ്മുടെ സാമൂഹികക്രമത്തെ വരെ സിനിമ ബാധിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട് എന്ന് നിസ്സംശയം പറയാൻ നമുക്ക് സാധിക്കും. ഫ്യൂഡൽ വ്യവസ്ഥയുടെ ഭാഗമായി ജീവിച്ച ആളുകളെ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുമ്പോൾ അതിലെ ജാതീയതയുടെ ചേരുവ മിക്കപ്പോഴും ഒന്നുതന്നെയാണ് എന്ന് തോന്നിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.സവർണ്ണ വിഭാഗത്തിൽപ്പെട്ട നായകൻ്റെ ഫ്യൂഡൽ ഹീറോയിസവും അവർണ്ണൻ്റെ ഇല്ലാത്ത പോരായ്മകളും കുറവുകളും, ചാതുർവർണ്ണ്യത്തെപ്പറ്റിയുള്ള ധാരണകളും, സ്ത്രീകളെ ദുർബലകളായോ ഉപഭോഗവസ്തുവായോ പരാമർശിക്കുന്ന രീതികളും എല്ലാം ശരിയാണെന്...
