Happy Periods
One of the best decisions I've ever made in my life was to purchase a menstrual cup. Periods don't feel as easy on the inside. I experienced feeling physically and emotionally different few days in each month. My sister and sister-in-law suggested me to buy a menstrual cup for the past two years. At last, I decided to buy menstrual cup, after reading numerous reviews and comments in social media. That marked a turning point in my life. Since I am a woman, for the past 20 years I've been really terrified of my menstruation.
The
main cause of this is the sensation of insecurity at that time. Using pads,
changing them every three to four hours, and disposing cause headaches all the
time. Moreover the prolonged use of pads can result in discomfort or
irritation.
Now
I feel secured from all these insecurities after I started using menstrual
cups. Menstrual cups have several advantages, like being ecologically friendly,
providing superior leak prevention, and eventually saving of money. Instead of
absorbing menstrual flow like a tampon or pad, a menstrual cup is a tiny,
flexible cup made of silicone or rubber that is put into the vagina. We can
simply take out the cup, empty it, wash it with soap and water, and then
replace it after eight to twelve hours. Hence I strongly recommend to all women
to use menstrual cup.
Moreover,
The Government of Kerala has initiated
the promotion of eco friendly and cost
effective menstrual cups by allocating a sum of
Rs10 crore. As part of this, various awareness programmes and campaigns
will be conducted at state level in schools, colleges and work place to promote
the use of menstrual cup instead of sanitary napkins.
I
hope this initiative definitely will make a change in women’s life by providing
a tension free periods time.
