Frayed Threads of Humanity
Unwillingly ushered into a house, I tread,
A young lady weeping, her head kept low, eyes burning red,
Frozen in anguish, anger's fire within,
A man with a weapon, silenced, stuck by public din.
Shocking news for the public, but to them, their life's fold,
Pity for our society, where such horrors persist,
Girls brutally raped, repeatedly, amidst an unforgiving mist.
But change is stirring, parents are evolving,
Yet, sorrow still grips, making it hard to keep revolving,
Feeling bad to live in this world's strife,
For being a girl, it feels better to end life.
Yet hope lingers, as we seek justice to prevail,
Fate may shape our future, but united, we will sail,
Not just strangers' sight, I am known to my own,
In the face of adversity, my strength will be shown.
Let not our resolve falter, in battles we'll be caught,
In this world of darkness, miles to go before we're sought,
As Robert Frost once said, even the tender suffer woe,
Our nation intoxicated, forgetting how short life's flow.
Life is precious, and living it requires tact,
Let's stand together, strong and intact,
In this cruel world, let love be our guide,
For a brighter future, where compassion will abide.
I once felt that my heart was aching inside of me
As if it wanted to get out of my chest and break free
I asked it why it wanted to take a flight
Without it things won't be right
So my heart ached and said
Come see what's inside me, Go
There is a fire in my heart
Burning inside of me.
It burnt my smile and my laugh
Black is the only color I can see
Feeling so angry and sad
acting in a very bad attitude
Wish you aren't feeling the same now
Because I'm really in a very bad mood.
