  എന്തോ കുറിച്ച് തന്ന കടലാസ് കൈയ്യിൽ തന്നിട്ടാണ് ബസ്സ് കയറ്റി വിട്ടത്, വായനയറിത്തത് കൊണ്ടും കണ്ണ് പിടിക്കാത്തത് കൊണ്ടും വായിക്കാനൊന്നും നിന്നില്ല. തിരക്ക് കുറവായത് കൊണ്ട് ഇരിപ്പിടം കിട്ടാൻ പ്രയാസം ഉണ്ടായില്ല. എപ്പോഴോ നിദ്രയിലേക്ക് ആണ്ട്പോയിരുന്നു. ടിക്കറ്റെടുക്കാൻ കണ്ടക്ടർ തട്ടിവിളിച്ചപ്പോഴാണ് ഉണർന്നത്. "എവിടേക്കാ" കണ്ടക്ടറുടെ ചോദ്യത്തിന് മറുപടിപറയാൻ നിന്നില്ല, കൈയിലുള്ള കടലാസ് നീട്ടി ഒപ്പം ചുരുട്ടിപിടിച്ച നൂറിന്റെ നോട്ടും. 'ഇവിടെ ഇറക്കിക്കൊടുക്കുക' എന്ന തലക്കെട്ടിൽ എഴുതിയ വരികൾ വായിച്ചു. സഹതാപം കൊണ്ടാകണം മുഖത്തേക്ക് ഒന്ന് നോക്കിയ അയാൾ പണം വാങ്ങാതെ പറഞ്ഞു, 'രണ്ട് സ്റ്റോപ്പ് കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടാണ് ഇതിൽ എഴുതിയ വൃദ്ധസദനം'. Irshad. Comala is a short story written by Santhosh Echikkanam. On the surface level, the author depicts the life of Kundoor Viswam, a middle class man who became a bankrupt only because he stood a surety to his friend for Rs. 50000. The story also shows how one day media celebrates the news on Viswam's decision to commit suicide and how the relevance of the news wanes the very next day.  Postmodernism is a literary movement that emerged during the postwar era.    ചില പറിച്ചു മാറ്റലുകൾ സ്ഥിരമായുള്ള പറിച്ചു നടീലുകൾക്ക് വേണ്ടികൂടിയായിരിക്കാം. പട്ടിക്കാട്... ഓണംകേറാ മൂല... എന്നൊക്കെ വേണ്ടത്ര പരാതിയും പരിഭവവും പുച്ഛവും കാണിച്ച് ഈ ഒറ്റപാലത്ത്ന്ന് അങ്ങ് ദുബായിലേക്ക് വണ്ടി കയറുമ്പോൾ ഇനി ഇങ്ങോട്ടില്ലെന്ന തീരുമാനം തന്നെയായിരുന്നു. പണ്ട് എൽ പി സ്കൂളിൽ പഠിക്കണ കാലത്ത് തന്നെ മുംബൈ പോണന്നും അധോലോകം കാണണന്നൊക്ക ജീവിതഭിഷായികൊണ്ട് നടന്ന ചെക്കന് പേരിനെങ്കിലും ബുദ്ധിവന്നപ്പോ ഐടിഐക്ക് പഠിക്കാൻ പോയി നട്ടും ബോൾട്ടൊക്കെ തിരിക്കാനും മുറുക്കാനും തെറ്റില്ലാത്ത പോലെ മെക്കാനിക്കൽ വർക്കൊക്കെ പഠിച്ചപ്പോഴേക്കും ചെക്കന് പിന്നേം നാട് വിടണന്നായി ഇപ്പ്രാവശ്യം പക്ഷേ അധോലോകം കാണാനല്ലാട്ടോ ജോലി ചെയ്ത് പത്ത് കാശ് ഇണ്ടാക്കി ഈ പട്ടിക്കാടിന് പുറത്ത് എവിടെങ്കിലും സ്ഥിരതാമസക്കാലോ എന്ന ചെറിയ വലിയ ആഗ്രഹം കൊണ്ടായിരുന്നു. വേനൽ കാലമായാൽ ചക്കയും മാങ്ങയും പല പേരിലുള്ള വിഭവങ്ങളായി മേശയിലെത്താൻ തുടങ്ങും. പിന്നെ അച്ഛന്റെ മാസ്റ്റർപീസ് ഐറ്റം ചുവന്ന ചീരയും..... വേനല് തുടങ്ങിയാൽ പിന്നെ പുരയിടത്തിലെയും പാട്ടത്തിനെടുത്ത പറമ്പിലുമെല്ലാം ചീര തന്നെയാണ് പ്രധാന കൃഷി.... പിന്നെ വാഴ കുലയും... വഴുതനയും വേണ്ട
