'Wonder': A Movie to Enlighten Your Soul.

A year in the life of August Pullman (Jacob Tremblay), also known as Auggie, is chronicled in the film "Wonder," which is based on the same-titled book by R.J. Palacio. He had to undergo several surgeries since he was a new born due to genetic abnormality that he was born with.

A story that could have been painfully portrayed has been transformed by director Stephen Chbosky into one that is soft and gently moving. Here, Auggie's emotions are visible behind downturned facial lines and imperfections, thanks to a strong and convincing application of makeup.

It's a good idea for the script, which was co-written by Chbosky, Steve Conrad, and Jack Thorne, to establish right away that Auggie is a typical child in all other respects. He adores both Minecraft and "Star Wars."He has a knack for science, a cunning sense of humor, and a vivid imagination that enables him to deal with challenging circumstances. The magical realism that "Wonder" occasionally employs is more amusing than distracting.

The story is grounded by consistently excellent performances. Tremblay, who displayed maturity beyond his years in the heartbreaking 2015 thriller "Room," gives his 10-year-old character a sweetness and intellect that make him likable even when he is hiding his face behind an astronaut helmet. As his loving parents, Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson depicted an awesome family environment. Izabela Vidovic, who plays Tremblay's elder sister and has been kind enough to put her own emotional needs aside to let her brother be the focus of the family's attention.

When Auggie reached middle school age, Isabel and his father Nate (Wilson) choose to enroll him at Beecher Prep so that he will develop social skills and feel more at ease in the outside world. Given the possibility of bullying and isolation, everyone is naturally frightened of this big shift. In fact, when his parents send him out on his own for the first time, the kids on campus felt uneasy and moved their steps away from him.

But the natural bond Auggie forms with Jack Will (Noah Jupe), a young person who also feels alienated because he is a working-class scholarship student, is one that stands out. Wilson receives what could be the most moving, uplifting sentence in the whole movie, despite the fact that his character appears underdeveloped beyond serving as comedic relief at times of family conflict.

The movie established its title, “Wonder”, as Auggie’s beautiful little heart’s overwhelming kindness could able to turn the tragic environment around him into finest ending. The movie succeeds for such a long time, making its predictable ending feel forgivable. This movie will make sure to hold back each viewer to its core.
